FCC Chairman Brendan Carr officially sworn in, "repeal net neutrality and deregulate TV ownership"
47대 미국 대통령에 취임한 도널드 트럼프(Donald Trump)가 1월 20일 취임 직후 브렌단 카(Brendan Carr)를 차기 연방방송통신위원장(FCC)에 공식 임명했다.
카는 평소 지론대로 레거시 방송에 대한 규제를 강화하고 망중립성 폐지, 빅테크 규제, 미디어 소유 규제 축소 등으의 정책을 펼칠 것으로 보인다. 브렌단 카는 “트럼프 대통령이 자신을 연방통신위원장으로 지명하자 성명을 통해 감사”와 함께 열의를 표시했다.
Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States, officially nominated Brendan Carr to be the next Federal Communications Commissioner (FCC) shortly after his inauguration on January 20th.
Carr is expected to pursue his usual agenda of increasing regulation of legacy broadcasting, repealing net neutrality, regulating big tech, and reducing media ownership. "Thank you, President Trump, for nominating me to be your new Federal Communications Commissioner," said Brendan Carr in a statement.

카 위원장은 “FCC는 테크 및 미디어 규제부터 스펙트럼, 인프라, 우주 경제에 대한 기관의 조치를 통해 일자리와 성장을 위한 새로운 기회를 창출하는 것까지 중요한 과제를 앞두고 있다”며 “미국의 국가 안보 이익을 증진하고 소비자를 보호할 것”이라고 강조했다.
